Franklin Home Power 2
The Franklin Home Power 2 is the lineup's domestic option: assembled in the United States with US-based warranty support. For homeowners who weigh where a product is made and who answers the phone when something goes wrong, that matters.
Why we like it
The Home Power 2 covers the fundamentals well. At 13.6 kWh per unit it sits in the practical middle of the lineup: enough for serious backup, not so large the install gets complicated. The LFP chemistry is the safe long-life standard. What sets it apart is the domestic angle: US assembly and a US-based support operation mean warranty claims and service questions stay close to home. For a Buy American household, that is a real consideration, not a slogan.
Who it's right for
- Homeowners who prefer a domestically assembled product
- People who value US-based warranty and service support
- Homes that want a mid-size battery without the complexity of the largest units
Where it falls short
Franklin is a newer brand, so it has fewer years of field history and a smaller installer network than Tesla or Enphase. Its 12-year warranty is solid but shorter than the Sonnen evo's cycle warranty. None of this is a strike against it. It is simply a younger product, and we say so plainly. Before we recommend it, we confirm there is a certified installer near you.
How it compares
Against the Powerwall 3, the Home Power 2 is slightly smaller and usually a bit less expensive, with the domestic-assembly advantage but a smaller network. Against the FranklinWH aPower 2 (a different company despite the similar name), it holds less energy per unit. Against the Enphase IQ Battery 10C, it offers more capacity per unit but less modularity. We weigh all of that against your home when we make the match.
